Bruce Grobbelaar, Liverpool’s most successful goalkeeper during the 80’s and early 90’s, will be speaking at The Chester Grosvenor’s Captain’s Club dinner on Thursday 13th June.
The event will be the third in a series of evenings, hosted by a variety of guest speakers who have risen to prominence in their sporting careers. Available exclusively online, a limited number of tickets can also be personalised and gifted upon request.
Bruce will be recounting tales from his illustrious career in the world of football, from his time in Crewe Alexandra and Liverpool F.C. right through to the present day in South Africa. The talk will also be followed by a question and answer session. The evening will include a three-course meal, accompanied by a half bottle of Sommelier’s choice wine.
Born in South Africa and brought up in Zimbabwe, Grobbelaar played for Crewe Alexandra in 1980 and was signed by Liverpool in March 1981, becoming an instrumental member of the team. Today, he is recognised as one of the most outstanding goal keepers in the game, renowned not only for his gregarious personality but also for his unorthodox and often spectacular style of play.
General Manager of The Chester Grosvenor, Richard Grove, comments: “We’re delighted to welcome Mr Grobbelaar to The Chester Grosvenor for the third of our Captain’s Club dinners. With Liverpool F.C’s recent historic victory securing them a place in the Champion’s League final , we look forward to welcoming guests to what promises to be an insightful and exciting evening from one of the club’s biggest stars.”
The Captain’s Club with Bruce Grobbelaar takes place on Thursday 13th June at 7pm. Tickets cost £70 and include a three-course meal, accompanied by a half-bottle of Sommelier’s choice wine.
