Applications now open for Northwich Festival of Arts 2020

The Northwich Business Improvement District (BID) is on the lookout for artists and creatives to perform at the town’s Festival of Arts in 2020.

Set to be delivered in July this year, the event will showcase the cultural and artistic talent that exists in the town and surrounding areas and will build upon the success of the last two festivals.

The deadline for expressions of interest is midnight on Friday 14th February so potential applicants now have just under four weeks to apply and let the BID know what they plan to deliver.

Northwich BID Manager Jane Hough has outlined the kind of activities they’re looking for people or groups to showcase throughout the festival.

“Activities at the festival can take place both indoor and outdoor and we’re looking for individuals or groups to deliver performances or sessions that will have the wow factor.

“We welcome performances from a range of disciplines including theatre, music, dance, film, digital arts, visual arts, pavement art, graffiti art, cartoonists and tattoo art among many others. Practitioners will need to co-ordinate their activities within the town centre.”

The BID will once again be working with a number of partners to deliver the festival including Northwich Art Shop, Visual Arts Cheshire, Barons Quay, Cheshire West and Chester Council and a number of businesses within the town centre.

The festival will also encompass pre-existing events that will be taking place in July. These include The Visual Arts Cheshire Art Trail, Northwich Art Shop’s Grand Day Out and Northwich Rotary’s River Festival, as well as tying activities in with live music venues, bars and cafes throughout the town.

To express an interest to deliver activity at the Northwich Festival of Arts 2020, individuals or groups will need to complete a short proposal which includes details about their organisation, what they will be delivering, the audience the activity is aimed at and the preferred location for delivery, amongst other things.
