Children from across Warrington will be sharing the stage with a steam engine this week in the classic play inspired by the E. Nesbitt story The Railway Children.
The children and young adults with ages ranges between 7 and 18 have been rehearsing for over four months with Encore Productions, a Warrington based theatre company, and are set to start a run of four shows this week at The Pyramid Arts Centre in Warrington. They will be sharing the stage with a cast of adults and a steam engine to bring this story, made famous with the 1970 film starring Jenny Agutter and Bernard Cribbins, to life.
The volunteer run Encore Productions were formed 10 years ago to provide adult performers with an alternative outlet to showcase their talents, with a primary objective to provide new, edgy and exciting productions, as well as The Railway Children they are currently producing the new musical ‘The Wind in the Willows’ to be performed at the Brindley Theatre in April 2019. Encore believe that theatre should be accessible, entertaining and engaging for everyone. They believe in one simple mantra... 'Amateur Theatre with a Professional Attitude'
