DECEMBER 8 and 15 will see Gulliver's theme parks shut down for the day to open only to members of children's charity, Variety.
Over 2000 children will visit Gulliver's World, Warrington, and Gulliver's Land, Milton Keynes, to enjoy a day of fabulous festive fun.
Variety is a charity that specialises in providing support to children across the UK who are sick, disadvantaged or disabled. The provide coaches, bespoke wheelchairs, sensory and recreational equipment for use in the home, school and hospital, and they create memorable experiences through "Variety Great Days Out."
One of those great days out has taken place annually at Gulliver's theme parks for many years; with this year being the 10th!
Miranda, Variety Great Days Out Co-ordinator, said:
"Variety is really looking forward to bringing children to Gulliver's for our annual Christmas Day out. Gulliver's have been huge supporters of Variety over the past 10 years and we are delighted to have them so involved in our Great Days Out programme. Trips to their parks make magical memories for children living with disability and financial disadvantage, providing the opportunity for shared learning experiences away from the classroom and with fun at its heart."
Gulliver's are proud to be involved with charities that provide children, some of whom may not otherwise have the opportunity, to attend their theme park and have a day out with their family and friends. Their efforts recently resulted in being presented with a certificate of thanks at Ashgate Specialist Support Primary School. The certificate was presented by the Lord Mayor of Manchester.
This certificate recognises that Gulliver's has already had a positive impact on many children by being welcoming and understanding of their needs and to celebrate the work that Gulliver's do for children.
Dean Kimberley, Director of Guest Services at Gulliver's, said:
"Our main aim at Gulliver's is to provide fun for all of the family and not to discriminate based on a person's health, wealth or ability. Gulliver's prides itself on providing days out for all and we really welcome events such as the Variety event. We are looking forward to providing visitors from Variety with a fun-filled day of festive fun."
December has arrived, and Gulliver's want to help children and their parents get in to the seasonal spirit and enjoy time together.
Gulliver's World is open at weekends and midweek Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout December, then daily from the 20th until the Santa Send-Off on Christmas Eve. For full details of all the Christmas activities, packages, opening times and to book online, visit: www.gulliversfun.co.uk/warrington
