Eight young cancer patients from The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Wirral, Merseyside, enjoyed a relaxing spa day at Cheshire’s Carden Park this week.
The group spent Tuesday morning at the luxury hotel’s spa, which offers a range of products from Jennifer Young’s Defiant Beauty range, specially designed to help with some of the side effects of chemo and radiation therapy. The award-winning spa also offers treatments for sensitive skin, a typical side effect of cancer treatment.
After a relaxing morning with guests enjoying a selection of spa treatments, the group enjoyed lunch at renowned hotel restaurant The Vines. The menu was specially designed by Executive Head Chef Graham Tinsley and included chicken and leek pie followed by treacle tart with Cheshire farm ice cream. Carden Park’s luxurious lounge with sweeping views over the Cheshire countryside was also reserved for the young people to enjoy.
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre works within The Merseyside and Cheshire Cancer Network to provide non-surgical oncology services for Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) patients aged between 16 and 24.
Hamish Ferguson, General Manager at Carden Park commented: “Hosting this group of young people was a great pleasure and we hope they enjoyed relaxing here. We are proud to be able to support Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in this way and look forward to holding many more leisure days for their patients in the future.”
