A fantastic opportunity to share ‘Your Cheshire’ with your local residents!
Do you want more local people to know about your attraction?
As Cheshire welcomes thousands of friends and family visitors don’t you wish Cheshire residents knew more about you?
English Tourism Week takes place from 17 - 25th March 2018, due to the success of 2017’s festival and to mark the annual, week-long celebration, Marketing Cheshire, along with Cheshire East Council, Cheshire West and Chester Council, and Warrington Borough Council will be hosting the second Cheshire Residents’ Festival.
2017 saw the first ever Cheshire Residents' Festival which took place from 25th March to 2nd April. Local residents were offered free entry, hands on workshops and behind the scenes tours to many 'hidden gem' attractions across Cheshire. The festival successfully raised awareness of the quality and diversity of Cheshire’s attractions, whilst providing local residents with a chance to discover attractions they may not have even known were on their doorstep!
The festival was a huge success with many tickets selling out in the first week and 25% of people revisiting an attraction within 3 months of the festival.
This is what some of last years participants said:
Jodrell Bank: ‘The chance to participate in a national scheme targeted in principle to reach those that might not ordinarily visit our attraction.’
Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre: ‘Visitors came who had not been before although they lived close by.’
Adlington Hall & Gardens: ‘Raised awareness of our venue to people who would not usually come to visit.’
Englesea Brook Chapel & Museum: ‘It brought a new audience and we met some delightful people , who say they will tell others about us & they will bring friends when they visit them.’
RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands: ‘Seemed to be well promoted especially in local papers and social media. Was minimal effort for substantial gain.’
This year the 2018 festival, 17th - 25th March, will be even bigger and better with more attractions involved across the county and more quirky events to offer residents.
The 19 attractions involved last year are already keen to sign up again for this year, so don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to get involved with the national VisitEngland English Tourism Week Campaign and promote your business to local Cheshire residents.
Cheshire residents will have a chance to ‘be a tourist’ and discover attractions which they may not have even known were on their doorstep.
We’d like you to get involved and open your doors up to local residents who are keen to explore what's on their doorstep.
